Past Events

On Thursday, January 9, 2025, the Barton County Chamber of Commerce kicked off its first Chamber Spotlight Networking Event of the year at Jeffries Bath and Tile, LLC, and Plant Haven, located at 1020 Broadway on the East side of the Lamar square. The event provided an excellent opportunity for the community to meet the business owners, Nic and Amanda Jeffries, and learn more about their impressive offerings. The welcoming atmosphere was complemented by coffee and donuts, making for a relaxed and engaging morning.

Jeffries Bath and Tile, LLC opened their doors in 2024 following a major renovation of their building. This local business specializes in tile and stone installation, providing quality services to homeowners, general contractors, and DIY enthusiasts alike. With years of experience, Jeffries Bath and Tile, LLC has established itself as a trusted name in the industry.

Nic, the owner, has been in the remodeling trade since 1999, and after honing his skills with some of the area's top contractors, became a licensed contractor in 2012. Since 2017, Nic and his dedicated team have focused on perfecting their craft, particularly in ceramic tile installation and bathroom renovations. Their combined experience and commitment to excellence have made Jeffries Bath and Tile, LLC one of the most respected contracting companies in the region.

In 2021, Amanda joined the business as the full-time business manager and brought a unique flair to the showroom by opening Plant Haven, a charming houseplant shop that operates within Jeffries Bath and Tile space. Plant Haven offers a wide range of plants and gardening supplies and has become a popular destination for plant lovers in the community. The plant shop is open Monday through Thursday from 10 AM to 3 PM, and hosts After-Hours Plant Sales on the first Friday of each month from 5 PM to 8 PM, making it a convenient stop for evening shoppers.

The Chamber is excited to support and highlight local businesses like Jeffries Bath and Tile, LLC, and Plant Haven as part of its efforts to connect the community with the incredible services offered right here on the square. If you missed the networking event, be sure to stop by Jeffries Bath and Tile, LLC, and Plant Haven to see for yourself what these businesses have to offer. Here's to a successful and prosperous 2025!

The Barton County Chamber of Commerce has begun a series of “Business Spotlight” events, giving individuals the ability to see what goes behind the scenes of the many places that offer their services in Barton County. While doing so, individuals are able to network and possibly discover new opportunities. According to the chamber, these events will also take place in 2025 and will offer a chance to meet new people, learn about local businesses and celebrate the “amazing individuals and organizations that make our community thrive”.

There is no fee to attend and registration is not necessary. Spotlight networking events are open to the public and the hosts of these networking events are open only to chamber members. The chamber’s second Business Spotlight of 2024 was held Thursday, Dec. 12, 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., at AOK (About our Kids) Nathan’s Place, located on the northwest corner of the Lamar square, at 1005 Gulf St.

Daylight Donuts furnished donuts with Highland Brew providing the coffee available to individuals who took the opportunity to net work and to tour Nathan’s Place in order to learn more about their After School and Summer Camp programming. Also, more in depth information and details regarding the new AOK Mental Health Program were explained by Licensed Clinical Therapist Heath Baker. Plans are to have the program launched in 2025. Information regarding substance abuse and mental health were provided, plus Chad Williams, director of the Barton County Ambulance District and community paramedic, offered free Narcan training and administration, followed with a question and answer session.

For more information on possibly featuring your business as a spotlight contact the Barton County Chamber of Commerce at www.bartoncounty.com or visit their Facebook page. Information regarding AOK and its many offerings can be found on aokyouth.org or visit their facebook page.
